RIVA IN SHANGHAI: AN APPOINTMENT FULL OF PROMISES
It has been a great success for Riva taking part at the Shanghai Boat Show, held from the 8th to the 11th of April. Riva, that has been for the first time at this meeting of steadily increasing importance, with its Hong Kong dealer Simpson Marine, has aroused the interest of many with the images of its models. "just like many other quality products, especially if rich of history and with a unique tradition", says Francesco Frediani, marketing manager of the shipyard, "towards Riva too the Chinese operators and public have immediately shown a lot of appreciation. YOUNG YACHT MASTERS GROW UP
An unusual visit at the historical Riva shipyard. A hundred and twenty children from first grade school Lavinia Storti of Chiuduno, a small town nearby the Lake d'Iseo, have been brought by their teachers to see, for the first time in their life, how Riva boats are made. For about an hour they have admired old and new hulls, showing a great interest and curiosity. On their return to school each one of them will have to freely show, with a drawing, his own idea of a boat and these pieces will all be taken for a public exhibition that Riva will organise in the next months....more »

AFTER THE SUNSET: A RIVA FOR PIERCE BROSNAN
It has finally arrived on the screen in Italy, " After the Sunset", the eagerly awaited movie with Pierce Brosnan as protagonist and the beautiful Salma Hayek (a nomination at the Awards for Frida) as his party. The movie, a breathtaking adventure that in a short time will also be on the European screens, has also an Aquariva as a protagonist, driven by the Hayek (Lola in the movie) and launched at top speed in the waters of the Bahamas. LUCIANO SCARAMUCCIA LEAVES RIVA. GIANCARLO GALEONE IS THE NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER.
“For urgent and unexpected personal problems”, Eng. Luciano Scaramuccia, Riva’s chief executive officer from October 2003, has resigned from his assignment and from any other function previously covered at Ferretti Group. “I take the opportunity” wrote Scaramuccia in a short dismissal communication, “to thank everybody for the cooperation received during this wonderful period spent together, and also to wish Riva and Ferretti Group a future continuously plenty of success and satisfaction”. Norberto Ferretti, president of Ferretti Group and Riva, as well as Giancarlo Galeone, vice-president of the Group, acknowledge with sorrow the choice of Eng. Scaramuccia, “understanding the reason which lead him to make this decision, they take the opportunity to thank him for the job developed with dedication and responsibility, bringing in a young Group such as ours the experience of many years in the nautical field”. THE LUXURY AND RIVA: A DEGREE THESIS WITH FULL MARKS
She has graduated with an honors degree (110/110) presenting a thesis dedicated to Riva, to the brand value and its strength to attract its passionate and loyal consumers. Ludovica Lamberti graduated a few days ago at the Università Cattolica with an extensive work titled "The Symbolic increase in value of the luxury goods. A semiotic approach". "In a competitive market, as the current", wrote Ludovica Lamberti, "the value transmitted by a brand makes the difference and is able to increase consumers conviction. (...) Riva is the right example of tribal brand, because has the strength to attract passionate and reliable consumers to the historical values which its brand represent. Thanks to a correct re-semantic policy Riva has been able to express its value from the illustrious Aquarama to the new models, sharing part of its legendary history also with the latest shipowners....more »

Main theme of the conference were the events for Riva wooden boats shipowners and, for the first time, for Riva fiberglass boats too. FORTY GERMAN STUDENTS VISITING RIVA
In the run down of the cultural meetings for the twinning between the "Istituto tecnico commerciale Marroni da Ponte" of Presezzo (Bergamo) and the "Höchstadt a.d. Gymnasium" a group of fourty german students visited, Monday april 4th, the Riva shipyard. The meeting had the purpose to increase the knowledge of boats and Riva production systems. THE DESIGN AS COMPETITIVE ASSET: THE RIVA CASE HISTORY
Current complex industrial systems by now are inclined to be equal in costs of row materials, energy and manpower. Design and correspondent brand value becomes a srategic asset in the firm's success. It's this the main theme faced up in the book "Disegnato in Italia" (Hoepli edition), launched in this days and cured by Laura Galloni and Raffaella Mangiarotti, of the Design faculty of Politecnico in Milan. The book is divided in two parts: the first one is composed of series of essays on italian design; on design as a competitive asset for firm; on relation between design, culture and innovation and between design and research, and so on. The second part analyze eight case history of excellence and success: from Alessi to Samsonite, from Tod's to Riva. In the essay dedicated to Riva, Sivia D. Ferraris analyze the style, the story of an exemplar firm and product (the Riva Rivale), the main feature of sector and projecting process that comes from it....more »

DEALERS' MEETING AT RIVA
A snow-clad shipyard has welcome on monday 28th February, on the Iseo Lake, the Riva Dealers coming allover the world. The annual meeting, organized in two working days, has the main porpouse to study in depth the knowledge of the Riva world, its boat, its production systems and its future projects. On the St.Moritz snow, the well-known Swiss ski resort, got ashore the Aquariva. Two Riva boat of the last generation, the Sunriva 33’ and the Opera 85’, won the Millenium Yacht Design Award 2005 assigned by Seatec, the international fair of nautical technology opening in Carrara from the 3rd to the 5th february. The prestigious prize is devoted to the best four boat in the world, (eachone in its own cathegory) judged during the last year by design, beauty and innovation. A new Riva yacht is born: the 75' Venere. It is an extraordinary fly that, in the name of Riva tradition and excellence, will be launched within the current year. The announcement has been given to the Düsseldorf Boat Show during a crowded press conference. With two engines MTU 10 cylinder of 1524 MHP, the 75' Venere will reach 32 knots speed, with a 300 miles autonomy with cruising speed. Many avant-garde solutions: from the big windows in the cabins of the lower deck, to the opening of the bow that allows to have a wide swimming platform for the spare time and the practice for water sports.
