OCEAN'S TWELVE: A LOT OF STARS AND A RIVA
Finally playing at cinemas in Italy, Ocean's Twelve will be out on screens in all of Europe by the end of the year. Starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Andy Garcia, Don Cheadle, Bernie Mac and Julia Roberts. Directed by Steven Soderbergh and distributed by Warner Bros, it is the sequel of Ocean's Eleven, another action film of big success. Some scenes have been shot in June on Lake Como, on board of a Riva Aquarama, specially equipped for the occasion. On Lake Como, as it is well-known, George Clooney has a wonderful villa and Brad Pitt may have also bought one according to recent gossips. It is also on Lake Como that the protagonists of the film used a Riva Aquariva for the transfers - and also for the sport of waterskiing....more »

NAUTICAL INSTITUTE IN TRIEST: A RIVA FOR LEARNING
A businessman of the shipayrds in Triest, Giovanni Franco; a glorious school with 250 years of experience, the Istituto Nautico di Trieste (the Nautical Institute of Triest); a genial and brave teacher, Walter Macovaz; and Riva together with its Italian dealer, Cesare Casarola. From the union of these forces, a school experiment full of interest is born: for the first time, in fact, the students of the institute, followed by teachers and experts, restaured a vintage Riva (an Ariston), learning on the field and at the maximum level the tecniques and the secrets of the wooden boats. The boat, abbandoned in a warehouse for several years, has been given by Giovanni Franco, that also has given the premises to restore the boat inside his own shipyard in Triest (Cartubi). Riva, through Cesare Casarola, will supply them the necessary consultancies to finish the work that will be co-ordinated by Mr. Walter Macovaz....more »

Sunriva, Aquariva and Mercurius: these are the Riva boats on exhibition at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, in Florida, from Thursday 28th October to Monday 1st November. After a business agreement, a year ago, between Ferretti Group and Marine Max, the major American dealer in the nautical field, the interest for Riva boats on the American market has had a strong increase. HONORIS CAUSA AWARD TO NORBERTO FERRETTI
Norberto Ferretti, president of the nautical group that brings his name and Riva's president, has been awarded with the honoris causa degree in naval engineer the Genoa University. The prestigious acknowledgement, the motivation says, has been assigned to Norberto Ferretti for "having created an industrial reality at world level, and to have maintained, in Italy, prestigeous brands of boating and to have paid great attention to research and high technology". The award has been given during a public ceremony, by the magnificent Rettore Pontremoli and by the president of the Engineering faculty, Professor Vernazza....more »

In the period May-September the number of visitors exceeded 100 thousands units (exactly 101.640) and the one of the visited pages has reached the goal if a million (1.018.907). 20% of the visits are Italian visitors, while the remaining 80% comes from all over the world. And the serial story realised for the new Tim Turbo campaign (an innovative offer of third generation for mobile phones), began from 4th October and will last a few weeks. The Riva award for the best shortcut produced by an European School of Cinematography has been won by "La Premiere Fois", work of the young film director (26 years old) Sebastien Carfora and presented by the High School of Cinematograhic Studies (Esec) of Paris. The Riva award has been given during the International Festival of Shortcuts in Lovere, in its seventh edition. The event, presided over by Mr. Bruno Bozzetto, one of the major teacher in the world in the animation cinema, had the film director Mr. Maurizio Nichetti as jury president. Among the honorary guests Mr. Gigi Rizzi, famous in 50s and 60s for his love story with Brigitte Bardot and symbol of the Dolce Vita. A wonderful night of summer end was the frame, Tuesday 21st September at the Montecarlo Beach Hotel, to the traditional party organised in the Principality by Riva and by Monaco Boat Service (the historical dealer from Monaco), in co-operation with Cartier and Bentley. More than 300 guests, coming from all over the world, could admire Rivale and Rivarama, two of the most successful Riva boats of the last generation, moored at the hotel. The party, opened with a cocktail on the beach late afternoon, went through the night with a gala dinner at the swimmming pool side, accompanied by music and dances. Many the participants that took a souvenir picture in the little photographic set made for the occasion, with the funny and fantasy production of the driving place of an Aquarama....more »

Lia Riva Ferrarese attended the gala dinner at the Carlton Intercontinental in Cannes and took the award in her father's name. She underlined that her father has been a pioneer since the fifties of the innovative marketing strategies and that he has always linked his boats to the luxury that has made the Riva shipyard legendary.
